Nar Law, Student

Nar Law (name changed) is 12 years old and was born and raised in a small village called Thar Phe. She is the third daughter among the four siblings. Being farmers, the parents and elders always work in the field. Looking after the younger ones is a custom in villages. Therefore, Nar Law always comes to school carrying her sister on her back and has to do the chores at home after coming back from school.

“Nar Law is a hard-working and attentive kid in the class. She reads books in the time her friends take a break. Even though she brings her sister to the school, she always tries to catch up in the lessons like others”. Having the opportunity to join the summer English course was a huge support and motivation for her to learn English as she wanted to improve her English skills. Surprisingly, she won the outstanding student award of summer English course. Nar Law’s mother said “We are happy to see our girl’s improvement and proud of her because we cannot read and write. We will put this prize (certificate) on the wall by the main door so that everyone can see it.”

Nar Law has a dream to become a teacher when she grows up in order to be able to help the people who are in need like her and wants to make her family proud.
